History

Child's World was established in 1976 by Mrs. Irene Broomwell, an American school teacher. It is an International pre-school with a student body consisting of children from ages 2 to 9 years old. English is the spoken language with special emphasis given to language training for the non-English speaking child.

The program is built around discovery experiences designed to help children learn who they are, learn to relate to peers and adults, and learn about the world in which they live.

Philosophy

We believe that the future success for our children will depend on their confidence and ability to learn effectively in our rapidly changing world. At Child's World International Nursery and Preschool, we believe in teaching children "how to learn" and focus on helping them acquire the skills needed to learn through their own discoveries. At Child's World children learn through participation, and that hands on involvement in a rich sensory environment stimulates brain development, and fulfills a child's natural desire to figure it out by them selves. We believe that, by carefully providing children with opportunities to explore a combination of familiar and unfamiliar activities, they will develop effective learning strategies that will enable them to meet future challenges.

Ongoing growth and development is encouraged and supported by a curriculum that promotes skill acquisition in the areas of cognitive, fine motor, gross motor, language, self-help and social development. Our curriculums are designed to challenge and engage a child's natural curiosity, resulting in the ability to transfer and apply the knowledge that he/she has gained.

A significant outcome of a positive preschool experience is the development of social skills that will enable your child to learn, enjoy and be successful in group environments. We feel the emotional intelligence acquired in these early years is paramount to carrying your child through to a healthy adulthood. With encouragement and effective teaching, children will learn important social skills. This is done by modeling good manners and respect, acknowledging and rewarding positive conduct and with close supervision to promote success within all aspects of the program. Our small class sizes and high student: teacher ratios ensure the BEST possible learning environment where your child will thrive and grow, academically and socially.
