Curriculum

Five Years

Eligibility:

The Interim Kindergarten (IK) program at Child's World is not a substitute for a kindergarten program. It is not designed for children who are eligible for kindergarten at other English speaking schools.

Purpose:

IK is a developmentally appropriate, language-based program that addresses all aspects of the child: social/emotional, physical, and academic. The curriculum focuses on language development through multiple language experiences (exploration of drama, show and tell, music, etc.). An introduction to pre-reading and writing skills through phonemic awareness is included. The goal of IK is to promote a positive attitude to school, social responsibility, readiness for elementary school, and a love of learning.
